NEW YORK, May 26, 2014 - William Holman Gallery is pleased to announce that Tom Judd has been awarded a Pollock-Krasner Grant. Judd is a Utah raised, Philadelphia based artist represented by William Holman Gallery. He was recently featured at the Downtown Fair and at the William Holman Gallery's show "Homeland" from March 26 through May 10th. Pollock-Krasner Grants are awarded for one year to practicing and actively exhibiting artists.

Judd received a BFA in painting from the Philadelphia College of Art in 1975, and has been working since. His most recent work has been landscape paintings, as well as collage, informed by his upbringing in the American West that were featured in the show Homeland. Judd says "My work speaks about memory and metaphor. It also reflects a very American version of the world. It’s about the highway vacations of my youth, motels and drive-ins, and bad murals on the side of drug stores."
