Liene Bosquê is a visual artist based in New York. Recently she was an artist resident at Workspace Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC). Liene participated in NYFA Mentoring Program for Immigrant Artists besides the 2012 Artist Alliance Inc. Studio Program and in 2011 in the New York Art Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation.
Liene received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011. She was born in Brazil, where she completed her BFA at São Paulo Estate University in 2003 and a baccalaureate in Architecture from Mackenzie University in 2004. While living in Lisbon, Portugal, she received in 2007 the "Anteciparte" award and in 2008 completed and Advanced Course at Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual (Ar.Co.).
Bosquê’s work deals with the exploration of sensorial experience within architectural, urban and personal spaces. Her installations, sculptures, site-specifics and performances works have been exhibited internationally at locations such as the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and Elmhurst Art Museum, Museu de Arte de Ribeirão Preto in Brazil, Carpe Diem in Lisbon, LMCC’s Arts Center in Governors Island, Kunsthalle Galapagos and NYFA Gallery in Brooklyn, among others non-profit galleries and public spaces in Brazil, Portugal, Turkey and United States.
